“Home is not where you live, but where they understand you” Christian Morganstern

Elvis A. Presley

I do not remember when I first heard an Elvis song or became a fan. Most of my family members are fans so I believe it's genetic. Anyway here's a few "Elvis" things I wanted to share.

I believe I've been spoken to by Elvis from the Great Beyond... OK I really do not believe that but I do have a good story. One of my great grandma's was a big E.P. fan as well. We would take trips to Sin City and  discuss Elvis conspiracy theories stating he really can't be dead and in fact hangs out in the upstairs area of Graceland. Elvis Sightings
Well when my wonderful grandma was on her death bed I asked to tell The King "hi" for me when she ran into him. Well sure enough approximately 3 weeks after her funeral I was sitting in my room and suddenly had the feeling I really wanted to turn the channel to Sirius All Elvis 24/7. When I landed on the station Elvis was belting out a song about "Mother." I wish I could but I do not remember the exact song but I think it's cool anyway.

Peanut Butter and Banana Sandwiches (my way, not the King's)

1 french loaf
1 jar of peanut butter (I prefer crunchy usually but for the sandwiches I use natural creamy w/ honey)
several bananas (I prefer greener usually but for this ripe is better)

You'll be making these like a grilled cheese sandwich so get out a pan and oil or butter to control stickage.
Slice the loaf from the top of it cutting down instead of down the middle like you would a hoagie roll. A whole loaf will make a lot of sandwiches. Grab two slices and butter one side of each slice. Apply peanut butter to one of the slices the opposite side as you buttered then put as many cut up banana pieces as you want (or will fit on top of the peanut butter). Place buttered side slice down in the pan and top with the other bread slice (buttered side out or up). Then just cook for a few minutes each side.
This is also awesome for toaster waffles. Just toast the waffles like normal but instead of using syrup put peanut butter and banana in between two waffles.

Elvis' first Top 20 pop song was "Heartbreak Hotel", it hit #1 in 1956. His last Top 20 pop song was "Way Down " and it reached #18 in 1977. He had several songs reach the Top 20 on the country charts in 1955. Elvis also had some Top 20 country songs into the 80's along with some Top 20 pop albums into the new millennium.
